Supra-regional operational groups (OSGs) are key partnerships for the development of innovative actions.

Supra-regional Supra-Operational Groups (OSGs) are key partnerships for the development of innovative actions. They allow for a very practical approach to present and future challenges, drawing on a wide range of approaches. This guarantees success in the search for the best solutions. Their actions are developed through joint and coordinated work within the framework of the European Innovation Partnership for Productive and Sustainable Agriculture.

With this scenario, AZUD, through G.O. Subalma, faces the ambitious challenge of improving productivity, competitiveness and sustainability in olive and olive oil production. It is not in vain that Spain is the world’s leading exporter of olive oil, which is why the proper treatment of waste derived from the olive oil production process is of vital importance, and also why recovering it is one of the sector’s main concerns.

Spain is the world’s leading exporter of olive oil, which is why the proper treatment of waste derived from the oil production process is of vital importance.

Thus, AZUD works to generate alternatives that favour a substantial improvement in sustainable practices and the circular economy in the olive industry, allowing the use of liquid by-products from oil production in precision irrigation systems, specifically in underground drip irrigation systems (RGS).

Azud is also working to generate alternatives that favour a substantial improvement in sustainable practices and the circular economy in the olive industry, allowing the use of liquid by-products from oil production in precision irrigation systems, specifically in underground drip irrigation systems (RGS).

It also develops the necessary tools to enable their use in the agricultural production phase, thereby reducing investment in inputs, improving the water efficiency of irrigation practices and generating various agronomic benefits.

G.O. Subalma promotes the modernisation of irrigation, increases the productivity, sustainability and competitiveness of olive groves and promotes the dissemination of knowledge to universalise the use of these techniques.
